Omarama Quarry
Aggregate coverage of the Upper Waitaki Valley.
Omarama is routinely populated with standard APs and shot rock for local roading and residential sales.
Geology
The source of gravel for this operation is from the beaches/islands within the Ahuriri River and gravel pit within the site. This material consists of an alluvium of Mackenzie Basin Aggregate consisting of rounded stones of Greywacke and Argillite with small quantities of Schist and Quartz.
Quarrying
Gravel is routinely extracted from both the river and gravel pit onsite within strict consent guidelines, and futher processed onsite with mobile crushing gear.
Convenience
As with our other minor quarries demand is intermittent at this site, so we optimise the ability for our clients to contact us and secure access, self- load and maintain the resource at an attractive sale price.
